1st Choice Healthcare Face Covering Update – May 2021
May 18, 2021
- 1st CHOICE IS STILL REQUIRING MASKS in all of our clinics. The CDC stated that the recent changes regarding masks do NOT apply to individuals in healthcare settings. The CDC advises that all staff, patients, and visitors in a healthcare facility continue to mask.
- THE CHANGES ONLY APPLY TO VACCINATED INDIVIDUALS. The new recommendations no longer require masking for those individuals who have been fully vaccinated (2 weeks past the 2nd shot of Pfizer and Moderna or 2 weeks past the 1st shot of Johnson and Johnson). If you haven’t been fully vaccinated, you need to continue masking in your private lives.
- The CDC is currently reviewing mask recommendations within healthcare settings. They are expected to make additional recommendations in the next few weeks. These recommendations are again expected to apply ONLY to fully vaccinated people. If you haven’t started or finished your vaccine series, now is a good time to start.

Please note the 2nd paragraph that states, “These recommendations can help you make decisions about daily activities after you are fully vaccinated. They are not intended for healthcare settings.”
We are offering Moderna vaccinations at all clinics. Schedule your appointment by calling your local clinic.
